Matt W. Moore, one of my favorite designers/illustrators/artists is going to be having a solo show at Threadless Chicago this November. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about it. Especially since Threadless is approximately a block from where I work.

The work of JR is always inspiring to me. His pictures are always captivating and his street art is just plain cool. He is known for his close up portraits which he then makes into prints and places on city streets in the towns where the pictures were taken in. He's done work all over the world and his pictures can easily tell stories. Check out his website and make sure to watch some of his videos about his work.

My friend Otis finally put together a little blog of some of his work. He's got some posters up right now that he's been working on. I love his work. His illustrations are so clean and fun. I'm looking forward to seeing what else he puts up!

Thanks to Artist A Day I've been able to browse through hundreds of talented artists, illustrators and designers. Today I found Marumiyan. He combines freehand pieces with photographs to create beautiful work.

Who says knitters and crocheters can't be street artists? A group known as Masquerade has been adding some color to the streets for some time now in the form of custom yarn pieces. Check out their blog here...

kidrobot x nemesis project.

Check out this track bike that Nemesis Project recently built for one of my favorite brands, Kid Robot. The bike was created as a contemporary art piece for the Kid Robot Store to show during Art Basel Miami Beach, but is 100% ready to ride. The bike is currently on display at at the Kid Robot Miami store but has a list price for $6,000 if your interested calling it your own.

wants for sale.

A New York City couple recently started a pretty genius project called Wants For Sale. It's pretty simple. They paint something they want, then sell the painting for whatever the item or service is worth. After the success of that project they started Needs For Sale, in which they paint needs that people or organizations have, then sell the paintings for whatever the items are worth. I like this project.

online mags?

I've come across a lot of online magazines in the last few years, and I think I've finally found one I can enjoy. Nothing Fancy is an online magazine who showcases submissions from artists, designers, and photographers around the world. They don't try and write articles or fill up pages with advertisements. They just fill up their virtual pages with art. They also have links to each of the artists websites so if you like what you see you can check out more work from the artist. I'm hoping this format catches on with other magazines.

jim denevan.

If you ever find yourself on a beach that looks like it's covered in "crop circle" like patterns, its probably just the work of Jim Denevan. Jim finds wide beaches with wet sand during low tide and spends up to seven hours creating massive images in the sand, using only a piece of driftwood and his eye. Amazingly he is able to create these shapes without using any measuring devices or instruments. Check out more of his work here...

moleskin project.

I recently got my first Moleskin and so far I love it. I doodle in it, make "to do" lists, and journal in it. And now, thanks to the Moleskin Project you can see what everyone else does in their own Moleskin. I'm amazed by what some people are capable of with a writing utensil and a piece of paper.
