I've always dreamed of living in a log cabin someday. This one looks like it would be nice to call home.

casa dupli.
Yeah, I could live here. The Cool Hunter just did a little write up on Dupli Casa, a residence in Southwest Germany, near Marbach. Clean lines, plenty of natural light, hardwood floors and a pool.

amazing architecture.
I could have spent hours looking at photos and reading about the 100 Most Viewed Architecture Projects at World Architecture News. I had no idea some of these buildings were being built right now. It blows my mind what architects and engineers are capable of these days.

tiny houses.
I've noticed a lot of designers and architects coming up with super small scale living spaces in the last couple of years. Maybe it's in part due to the whole "green" movement, or maybe people are just realizing they don't need those 3 spare bedrooms anymore. Check out Wire's article and then check out some of Tumbleweed, and Modular Dwellings tiny spaces.

more container houses.
I love this idea of turning old cargo containers into well designed homes. Adam Kalkin is an architect and artist who uses these containers to build very unique and modern looking homes.

container cottage.
I think I have found my dream home. This cozy lakeside cottage on Lake Aylmer near Montreal is the work of architect Pierre Morency. He used three large storage containers to construct this treehouse-like cottage. It has open air rooms, grass floors, and a garden on the roof. And since he used old metal containers for the main part of the structure he was able to build this cottage for under $150,000.

austria anyone?
If you ever find yourself in Langenfeld, Austria, you should probably stop by the Aqua Dome. This resort is set right in the Austrian Alps with easy access to beautiful views and nearby ski resorts. The spas and saunus not only look amazing, but are also heated by natural springs. Sounds like a good vacation to me.
